The Hague Apostille Convention, 1961, abolishes the requirement of Legalization of foreign documents for use in any member country, once an Apostille Certificate has been issued by a competent authority of the country where the document originates. Cuba - is a member of the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, that abolished the requirement of legalization of foreign public documents. Thus, any documents issued in India need to have the Apostille sticker from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Govt. of India.
Normally Documents are divided into three types as Commercial, Educational and Non-Educational. All the three types of Indian documents could be Apostille from the Ministry of Externa Affairs, Govt. of India required for Cuba.

Procedure for Birth Certificate Apostille: There are two ways of getting Apostille done
Process A:
Step 1. Attestation from the respective State Home Department / Regional Authentication Centre (RAC) /General Administration Department (GAD).
Step 2. Apostille by the Ministry of External Affairs Govt. of India (MEA) New Delhi, India
OR
Process B:
Step 1. Attestation by the Notary Public, India
Step 2. Attestation by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Govt. of Delhi (SDM), New Delhi, India
Step 3. Apostille by the Ministry of External Affairs Govt. of India, (MEA) New Delhi India
Duration for Apostille: 02 – 03 working days.
*It may take some more time due to transition and some unavoidable circumstances.

i. Original Document is required, which is to be Apostille.

ii. Photocopy of Passport (first two and last two page and the Passport Officer’s Attested page).
